The Elyssa project is an initiative of the French Institute of Tunisia supported by the Team France Fund. It provides an opportunity for artists based in Tunisia to express their creativity while benefiting from structured professional support.

Seif Eddine Nechi

born in 1974 in Tunis, is an illustrator and comic book author. Holding a master’s degree in psychology, he worked for years in advertising as an art director. In 2009, he launched a satirical blog which was censored the following year. Co-founder of the comic magazine “Lab 619” and the comic blog “Soubia.com”, he gained recognition in 2016 with comics for correspondents.org, receiving the Best Digital Comic Award at Cairocomix and becoming a Mahmoud Kahil Award finalist. In 2017, he earned several distinctions for “Bombyx Mori.” In 2018, he participated in the exhibition ‘New Generation of Arab Comic Artists’ in Angoulême, France and founded “Soubia”, a publishing house specializing in comics. Seif Eddine Nechi continues to make his mark in the world of comics with projects like “De plomb et de sang (Of Lead and Blood) in 2020 and Une Révolte Tunisienne, la légende de Chbayah (A Tunisian Revolt: The Legend of Chbayah) in 2022.
